Alumni and families
Alumni and their family members (defined as spouse, children, grandchildren, parents and siblings) may make a charitable donation directly to Western University and receive a tax deduction for their U.S. income tax returns under the Canada-United States Income Tax Convention using the donation receipt issued in Canadian dollars. The usual U.S. donation limits apply.
On your tax return make a note that you or your family members are a Western graduate or student.

Friends, Corporations, Foundation, Estates and Trusts
All other American citizens or residents wishing to make a charitable donation and receive a donation receipt in US currency should make their gift payable to The University of Western Ontario Foundation Inc. Western's Foundation Inc. (EIN #: 13-6620923) is incorporated under the laws of the State of New York and as a U.S. Foundation (a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization recognized under the U.S. Internal Revenue).
