Western University Be Extraordinary The Campaign For Western

Western thanks you

by Kelly Meighen | December 22, 2010

Western thanks you
Holiday greetings and thank you from The 1878 Societies Honorary Chair - Kelly Meighen

For me, the holiday season is a time to reflect. As I look back on 2010, it is clear Western’s reputation continues to grow both nationally and internationally. The recruitment from Cambridge University of renowned brain researcher Adrian Owen; Western’s number one ranking in The Globe & Mail for the ninth year in a row; and research discoveries that captured global attention in areas as diverse as medicine, astronomy and engineering are a few examples of the outstanding work being done at the University.

These achievements, and so many more, would not be possible without the support of our generous donors who understand how their contributions can help Western change the world.

While the majority of Western supporters call Canada home, we have growing, significant, international connections as well. This year, Western received support from donors based in 24 different countries, including Anguilla, India, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, Italy, Australia and China.

To our newest 1878 Societies members, and to our current members, I wish to thank you and recognize your generous support. Whether from Canada, or around the world, each and every gift supports those who call Western home, by giving them the means to make an impact on society.

On behalf of the entire University community, warmest wishes to you this holiday season and in the New Year ahead.

Sincerely,
Kelly Meighen, BA’71
Honorary Chair, The 1878 Societies
