From one parent to another
Amit Chakma: "I share your desire to see our children grow as caring individuals and thoughtful citizens."

As a parent with a son at Western, I understand your passion to see your child thrive at university with experiences that inspire learning and opportunities that broaden perspectives.

I share your desire to see our children grow as caring individuals and thoughtful citizens, and succeed in whatever careers they may choose to pursue in the years ahead.

To help all our students be successful, Western provides a range of resources that foster academic and personal achievement inside and outside the classroom.

From services that address mental health issues to volunteer activities that develop leadership skills to programs that encourage experiential learning, we strive to provide the best opportunities possible for every student to learn, grow and serve.

Because you play a key role in your child’s success, I am pleased to send you this newsletter. This edition of Western’s Parent Connection features several of the services and activities students have access to as part of their Western Experience.

Through these stories, I trust you will find helpful information to support and encourage your son or daughter during their time on campus.

Thank you for entrusting your child’s education to Western. The experiences and opportunities encountered at Western will shape your son or daughter into the kind of extraordinary person and leader who will transform our country and world for the benefit of generations to come.

Sincerely,

Amit Chakma
President & Vice-Chancellor
