Rewarding excellence in piano performance

by Krista Habermehl | January 30, 2008

Western’s former Head of Chemistry and Director of Student Health Services, Dr. Fred Pattison, has made a donation to the Don Wright Faculty of Music.

Proceeds from the Fred Pattison Award Fund, held at Foundation Western, will support the $4,500 Fred Pattison Piano Award at the Don Wright Faculty of Music, which will be awarded annually to the winner of a piano competition. In addition to receiving the award, the winner of the competition will give a public performance at Western the following academic year.

Dr. Pattison has a passion for the piano and has spent many hours enjoying performances in von Kuster Hall at the Faculty of Music. This award reflects his love of music and his desire to reward excellence in piano performance.
