“Western faculty, staff, retirees and students continue to demonstrate, year after year, what it means to be partners in building a stronger community,” says Bob Adams, Chief Executive Officer of United Way ofLondon & Middlesex. “Their generous contributions of time, money and expertise reflect a powerful commitment to making real change in people’s lives.”

Since 1992, Western has donated $5,507,687 to the local campaign.

“I am thrilled that our students, faculty, staff and retirees have generated this record-breaking gift for the United Way campaign, an organization that plays such a vital role in London and Middlesex,” says Paul Davenport, Western’s President.

Western campaign co-chairs Dean Jim Weese, Faculty of Health Sciences, and Rosemary Lawrence-Pitt, Director of Advancement Services, led the 2007 fundraising drive. Charlotte Sikatori from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and Catherine McInerney from the Allyn and Betty Taylor Library served as Western’s sponsored employees for more than three months during the campaign.
