The Faculty of Information & Media Studies is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge in media, communications and information technologies through innovative programs at the graduate and undergraduate level.
Programs include Media, Information and Technoculture; Media and the Public Interest; Master of Media in Journalim and Communication; and Library and Information Science, along with undergraduate studies in Media, Theory and Production and graduate programs in Media Studies, Popular Music and Culture, and Health Information Science. Areas of study cover current topics and trends such as social media, reality television and documentary media.

The Faculty is establishing a Chair in Media and the Public Interest to lead research and teaching of how media influences issues of equity, democracy, class, race and gender.
In an effort to address the gap between health related knowledge and the needs of clinical practice, health policy development and patient decision making, the Faculty is developing Canada’s first endowed Chair in Health Information and Media.
