Western University Be Extraordinary The Campaign For Western

Celebrate Creativity at Western

In 2013, Western alumna Alice Munro received the Nobel Prize in Literature. This momentous achievement recognized her exemplary talent – a talent that was fostered at Western, first when she was a student and, later, as writer-in-residence.

Western is proud to have seen the beginnings of Alice Munro’s publishing life and is honouring that connection through the creation of the Alice Munro Chair in Creativity.

This Chair will be a leading writer and an exceptional teacher. He or she will be dedicated to inspiring, mentoring and helping students develop their creative and critical imaginations.

Your contribution, along with those from many others, will impact each and every student in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

In recognition of the importance of creative expression for current and future students, Western has committed to match all donations to this Chair, dollar for dollar.
